Dominique Aviat

Director AND International

Dominique Aviat is a founding director of AND International, independent research firm specialised in food economics. With 40 years of experience in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, Dominique has a strong expertise in all economic, market and organisational aspects of aquaculture development. All along his career he advised many local, regional, European and international stakeholders on development, strategies and marketing policies in the aquaculture sector. In 2008 he conducted an important survey on economic performance and competitiveness of EU aquaculture companies.

Since 2009 he has been mostly involved in the design and the development of EUMOFA, the first market observatory of fisheries and aquaculture products covering the entire EU. Within EUMOFA he developed in particular a methodology to analyse price transmission in the supply chains for fish and developed many case studies on farmed species (seabream, seabass, trout, salmon, turbot, shrimp, mussel, carp). Dominique graduated from ESSEC Business School.
