The overall objective of the research is to present estimates based on accurate up-to-date statistics and analysis of data on the trade and processing flows and consumption of seafood in the UK with a focus on Norwegian seafood. The emphasis will be on estimating the share of selected species of Norwegian origin (salmon, trout, mackerel, herring, cod, haddock and cold-water prawns). The project will start in January and finish in February 2017.
It will also include an analysis of the movement and dynamics of seafood trade and consumption in other European markets with a focus on Norwegian seafood. The main objective of this part of the research is to estimate the share of selected Norwegian species in the European trade and processing sectors.
