Throughout 2025, Eurofish continued to fulfil its role as a neutral, knowledge-based organisation supporting and promoting the fisheries and aquaculture sectors of its Member Countries. The year was characterised by sustained engagement with stakeholders across policy, industry, research, and international cooperation, with a strong emphasis on visibility, networking, and practical sector representation.
Promoting Member Countries through events and meetings
A central pillar of Eurofish’s activities in 2025 was its active presence at key European and international events. Participation in conferences, trade fairs, workshops, and policy-oriented meetings allowed Eurofish to promote Member Countries, disseminate sector knowledge, and maintain close dialogue with decision-makers and industry leaders. Eurofish took part in events such as Seafood expo Global in Barcelona, Aquaculture Europe in Valencia, the North Atlantic Seafood Forum in Bergen, DanFish International and the NordicRAS Workshop in Aalborg, the International Conference on Aquaculture in Vukovar, EIFAAC meetings, EMODnet conferences, and several thematic and regional forums. These events provided platforms to present market trends, sustainability developments, technological advances, and governance perspectives relevant to fisheries and aquaculture. Beyond formal participation, events were also used strategically to strengthen Eurofish’s network, hold bilateral meetings with Governing Council representatives, explore opportunities for new collaborations, and identify emerging priorities for Member Countries. Distribution of Eurofish publications at these events further supported outreach and sector visibility.
Supporting cooperation through projects and partnerships
In parallel, Eurofish remained actively involved in a broad portfolio of EU-funded and international projects. Through initiatives such as EUMOFA, EMODnet Human Activities, SAFE, FishEUTrust, AlgaeProBANOS, and VeriFish, Eurofish contributed market intelligence, data harmonisation, stakeholder engagement, communication, and applied analysis. The work on these projects reinforced Eurofish’s intermediary role between policy, science, and industry, ensuring that technical outputs and analytical insights were closely aligned with the practical needs of the sector. Project-related meetings and dissemination activities also complemented Eurofish’s event presence, further extending its reach and relevance.
Information, communication, and visibility
Alongside its event and project activities, Eurofish continued to provide reliable information through its established communication channels, including publications, the eurofish.dk website, and LinkedIn. These channels supported the dissemination of sector news, project results, and Member Country perspectives, while also driving traffic to Eurofish services and outputs.
The activities of 2025 confirm Eurofish’s role as a stable and credible platform for cooperation, information exchange, and sector promotion. By maintaining a strong presence at key events, supporting collaborative projects, and ensuring consistent communication, Eurofish closes the year well positioned to continue serving its Member Countries and stakeholders in 2026.
