The workshop was held in Çeşme, and was attended by 37 participants representing fish farms, processing companies, universities, central and local government, as well as the Turkish Seafood Promotion Committee. The event was organised in close cooperation with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of Turkey.
The workshop provided the Turkish seafood industry sector with the latest information on several topics, including updates on the status of aquaculture in Turkey and the European market, requirements for the export of fish and fishery products to the EU; certification, electronic auctioning, traceability, health management and food safety; processing plant design; trade and marketing with a focus on the main Turkish-farmed species: seabass, seabream and rainbow trout.
