Danish fisheries contributed some DKK14bn (EUR1.8bn) in 2018 to the nation’s GDP. The sector is an important source of export earnings as well as of livelihoods in coastal communities. The Danish Fishermen Producer Organisation (DFPO) is the national organisation representing the fisheries sector through some 32 local associations across the country.
