EUROFISH contributed to the evaluation of the currently applicable measures for the recovery of European eel stocks under the Eel Regulation by assessing them against effectiveness; efficiency; coherence; relevance; EU added value; and sustainability criteria.
The evaluation’s conclusions will be used to inform decision-makers on whether the Eel Regulation needs to be reviewed or whether it is the implementation of the Regulation which needs to be improved. The evaluation will provide a transparent and accountable basis for decisions made in relation to the future implementation of the Eel Regulation.
