EUROFISH in cooperation with FAO, SIPPO and Bureau Veritas published a guide on “Sustainability and Quality Assurance in the Seafood Sector”.
The aim of the guide was to:
• give the reader an overview and understanding of the market demands for sustainability and quality assurance within the seafood sector.
• highlight the linkages between sustainability and quality assurance.
• assist the reader to navigate through the “jungle” of different labels and certification schemes that are on the market.
• help the reader avoid common mistakes and select the best suited certification scheme for his/her activities.
• explain how to act in a sustainable way and link the reader to further literature and education.
