EUROFISH in partnership and participated in a project on the identification of the potential for Blue Growth in the Baltic EU Member States at sea-basin level including providing recommendations for its development in the context of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the new financial programming period.
EUROFISH was responsible for providing a detailed overview of the marine and maritime sectors that make up the “blue economy” in each of the four Baltic EU Member States: Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
One of the main goals of this study was the development of exhaustive country fiches. These included not only analysis of socio-economic information for maritime activities but also the analysis of scenarios for each country, on, most relevant and promising marine and maritime sectors, growth drivers and barriers to growth, maritime strategies at regional and national level and their links with Smart Specialisation Strategies.
