FAO and EUROFISH held a three-day regional workshop “Improving post-harvest fisheries practices and fish consumption in the countries around the Caspian Sea” in Tbilisi, Georgia. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. Over 30 participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan representing governments and the industry attended the workshop. The topics of the workshop were addressed to capacity building of the countries to improve post-harvest practices, value addition for available fish resources, improvement of market access and increasing domestic fish consumption. Representatives from each country presented the latest developments in their fish sectors including catch, aquaculture, production, and trade.
