FEAP elects new president

Anna Pyć of Poland has been elected president of the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP), taking over from Greece’s Lara Barazi-Geroulanou, who held the role for six years. The vote was unanimous, taken at FEAP’s 2026 Annual General Meeting in Limassol, Cyprus, on 22 May. Pyć will serve a three-year term. She runs Pustelnia Fish Farm as chief executive, sits on the board of the Polish Trout Breeders Association as vice-president, and has been part of FEAP’s Management Committee for six years. Her background spans hands-on fish farming, industry representation, and policy work at both national and European level.

FEAP pointed to her efforts to raise the profile of Poland’s two main farmed species, carp and trout, and her work building relationships with national institutions on sustainable aquaculture. She has also been active on issues including fish welfare, environmental responsibility, innovation, and production standards. The federation noted that her election brings added recognition to freshwater fish farming in Europe and to women working in the sector. FEAP paid tribute to outgoing president Barazi-Geroulanou, crediting her tenure with helping to consolidate the federation’s standing as a more cohesive advocate for European fish farmers, and thanked the Cyprus Mariculture Association for hosting the meeting.
